MutationDiscovery.com is a resource for people
doing research in the area of genetic variation. The site includes
entries for thousands of genes, and each entry presents known variations
in the context of the genomic sequence for the gene. The genomic
sequence is drawn from the Genome Annotation Project at NCBI. Variation
data is drawn from several sources - see the FAQ page for more details.
At this time, the site includes data on human and mouse genes; data on other
organisms will be added in the near future.
The site also includes PCR and DHPLC protocols
to help researchers apply ADS Biotec WAVE nucleic acid fragment
analysis technology to the detection of both new and previously
observed genetic variations. For more information on DHPLC and WAVE
technology, please see
www.adsbiotec.com.
The main locus display page on this site is
built using Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) technology - a W3C standard
supported by a plug-in
from Adobe, which must be installed before using the site. (
Here
is a static sample page.)
